Risk Liaison Officer - Graduate Level - FinTech startup!

Who are we?

Tide is about doing what you love. We believe the world would be a better place if more people gave it a shot. It’s why we’re building a modern banking service that gives time back to people who work for themselves, so they can get back to doing why they love.

Open a current account in minutes, not weeks, that gives you a fully integrated set of banking tools that includes instant credit, easy invoicing and help for accounting across mobile and desktop.

Tide launched in January 2017 and in July, announced $14m funding from leading venture capital firms. We have grown extremely fast since launch and have ambitions to sign up over 50m businesses, over the coming years, across the world.

What’s the role? Who are we looking for?

As the Risk Liaison Officer, you will be the focal communication point between our risk team, our financial services provider and our members. You will conduct first line investigations into suspicious account activity and escalating complex cases, where necessary, to the second line investigations team. It will also be your role to handle fraud-related refunds and ensure timely, detailed communication is kept with our members to keep them in the know.

You will track statuses and investigations with our payments provider and work with management across all teams to improve processes and report on patterns that may indicate fraudulent activity. You will also work closely with our Community team to monitor fraud-related cases and react to these accordingly.

We are looking for someone that is fascinated by the intricacies of financial crime and how to prevent it. Someone that is excited by complex problem-solving, spotting patterns that indicate real-time fraudulent activity and acting on this promptly. You’ll be well-organised to manage the risk inbox and distribute cases where necessary. But above all else, you’ll be a flawless communicator. You can effortlessly express empathy with members and calmly coordinate with cross-functional team members.

We are looking for the following skills and experience

  • Faultless communication, oral and written in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and relate well with people from a variety of backgrounds and levels.
  • Strong attention to detail - can identify and analyse trends in transaction activity.
  • Great communicator - can explain complex information in a simple and easy to understand way.
  • Good understanding of financial services terminology - ideally within fraud/risk.
  • Can remain calm under pressure - patient, empathetic and has a positive mindset.
  • Driven by complex-problem solving and excited by the challenge or live, real-world challenges.

What are we like to work for?

  • We move fast and execute well.
  • We’re ambitious yet grounded.
  • We have a small-company feel but with big-hitting backers.
  • We’re open and progressive– input is encouraged from everyone at all levels.
  • We are mission-driven. We celebrate the small business sector and those who set up and run small businesses.
  • You can also read about our culture, which we take very seriously, see it for yourself here.

NO RECRUITERS, PRETTY PLEASE - all our recruitment needs are looked after by our awesome in-house talent team.
