What’s the role? Who are we looking for?

As the Risk Liaison Officer, you will be the focal communication point between our risk team, our financial services provider and our members. You will conduct first line investigations into suspicious account activity and escalating complex cases, where necessary, to the second line investigations team. It will also be your role to handle fraud-related refunds and ensure timely, detailed communication is kept with our members to keep them in the know.

You will track statuses and investigations with our payments provider and work with management across all teams to improve processes and report on patterns that may indicate fraudulent activity. You will also work closely with our Community team to monitor fraud-related cases and react to these accordingly.

We are looking for someone that is fascinated by the intricacies of financial crime and how to prevent it. Someone that is excited by complex problem-solving, spotting patterns that indicate real-time fraudulent activity and acting on this promptly. You’ll be well-organised to manage the risk inbox and distribute cases where necessary. But above all else, you’ll be a flawless communicator. You can effortlessly express empathy with members and calmly coordinate with cross-functional team members.

We are looking for the following skills and experience

  • Faultless communication, oral and written in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and relate well with people from a variety of backgrounds and levels.
  • Strong attention to detail - can identify and analyse trends in transaction activity.
  • Great communicator - can explain complex information in a simple and easy to understand way.
  • Good understanding of financial services terminology - ideally within fraud/risk.
  • Can remain calm under pressure - patient, empathetic and has a positive mindset.
  • Driven by complex-problem solving and excited by the challenge or live, real-world challenges.
